Each cluster is supported by its own local Au Pair in America representative, known as the Community Counselor. The Counselor is there to ensure that both you and your host family are having a successful time together. They also arrange regular social activities for you to meet up with other au pairs in your area.

I am originally from Syracuse, New York. I earned a degree in Social Sciences and Elementary Teaching from the State University of New York. I studied abroad in Dublin, Ireland and in 1976 married and settled on the island of Naxos, Greece while my husband Jay completed his degree in landscape architecture. Our next move was to Seattle, Washington in search of mountains and a Northwest Adventure! Many years later I'm still enjoying the mountains where I hike and ski every possible weekend.
I have a son and a daughter and a black Labrador. I enjoy teaching two mornings per week in a pre-kindergarten program, I participate in a monthly book group, and I enjoy gardening. Working as a counselor for Au Pair in America since 1993 has allowed me to be home to manage my family's activities while working with some great Seattle families, helping many remarkable young women, and working side by side with remarkable friends and colleagues.
